Thank you for choosing the Voodoo 69 —a late-’60s-inspired germanium fuzz by David Allen to bring vintage fuzz character, touch sensitivity, and dynamic response to your rig.

Inspired by the legendary Dallas-Arbiter Fuzz Face sound that helped define an era of guitar tone, the Voodoo 69 uses carefully selected NOS germanium transistors and a three-position MOJO switch for three distinct tonal voices. Bring Tone to Life®

CONTROLS

VOLUME

The left knob controls the overall output level of the pedal.

Turn clockwise to increase the volume. Use this control to match the pedal’s output to your bypassed signal or to push the front end of your amplifier harder.

FUZZ

The right knob controls the amount and intensity of fuzz.

Turn clockwise for more saturation, sustain, compression, and vintage germanium character. Turn counterclockwise for a more open, gritty, and responsive sound.

Experiment with your guitar’s volume control as well. The Voodoo 69 responds dynamically to changes in guitar volume and picking attack.

MOJO SWITCH

The three-position switch changes the pedal’s capacitance and tonal character.

MOJO WHITE

Top Position — Classic Voice

Uses the original capacitance configuration for the most traditional tone.

This setting delivers an open, raw, organic vintage fuzz voice.

MOJO RED

Middle Position — Mid Mojo

Uses a NOS paper-in-oil .047 µF capacitor to add more midrange character and focus.

This setting produces a more vocal, present, and cutting fuzz tone.

MOJO BLACK

Bottom Position — Full Mojo

Combines both capacitance options to increase mids and lows.

This is the fullest and thickest setting, with additional body, low-end weight, and overall authority.

Because germanium components can be sensitive to temperature, allow the pedal a few minutes to stabilize before making final adjustments in critical recording or performance situations.

USING YOUR GUITAR’S VOLUME CONTROL

The Voodoo 69 is designed to interact with your guitar.

With the FUZZ control set higher, try lowering your guitar’s volume control. You may find cleaner, brighter, or more articulate tones while retaining the pedal’s natural character.

Turn your guitar volume back up for more saturation, sustain, and intensity.

Your picking attack also has a major effect on the response of the pedal. Play softly for a more open sound and dig in for increased aggression and compression.

GERMANIUM COMPONENTS

The Voodoo 69 uses selected NOS germanium transistors.

Germanium components are valued for their warmth, musical compression, and responsive interaction with the guitar and amplifier. They can also be more sensitive to temperature than modern silicon components.

Avoid leaving the pedal in direct sunlight, inside a hot vehicle, or in extreme temperatures. Allow the pedal to return to normal room temperature before use if it has been exposed to excessive heat or cold.

Because NOS germanium transistors are limited in supply, production of the Voodoo 69 is limited.

If purchased from DavidAllen official website or from an authorized dealer comes with a two year warranty against failure from defective parts and/or faulty workmanship. The warranty applies only to the original owner of the product and is not transferable. Warranty coverage terminates two years after the owner receives the product. While a product is under warranty the product will be repaired or replaced free of charge. The owner of the product will be responsible for both shipping to and from. Warranty coverage will be automatically cancelled should the product be tampered with, modified, abused, damaged through misuse, repaired by an unauthorized third party or damaged through failure to follow the operating instructions.
