GETTING STARTED

CONTROLS:

VOLUME

The VOLUME control sets the overall output level of The Sheriff.

At higher settings, The Sheriff can provide substantial output and can be used as a powerful boost, particularly in the OPEN switch position.

TONE

The TONE control shapes the high-frequency character of the overdrive.

Turn it counterclockwise for a warmer, smoother response. Turn it clockwise for more brightness, cut, and presence.

GAIN

The GAIN control determines the amount of drive and saturation produced by The Sheriff.

THE THREE-WAY CLIPPING SWITCH

The vertical toggle switch selects one of three different voices.

UP — Symmetrical LED Clipping

This setting delivers a bold, punchy overdrive with a strong, confident voice. It offers a firm feel with a broad, powerful character and works especially well when you want a more pronounced driven sound.

MIDDLE — SILICON

Asymmetrical Silicon Clipping

This setting has a different harmonic structure and feel, with a more uneven, organic clipping response. It is responsive, musical, and full of character, making it an excellent all-around overdrive setting.

DOWN — OPEN

No Clipping

The lower position removes the clipping diodes from the signal path for a more open, less compressed response.

This setting allows The Sheriff’s gain stage and your amplifier to breathe with greater dynamic range. It can be used for a powerful clean-to-gritty boost, to push an amplifier into natural overdrive, or simply to add body and presence without the character of diode clipping.

Warranty Information:

If purchased from DavidAllen official website or from an authorized dealer comes with a two year warranty against failure from defective parts and/or faulty workmanship. 

The warranty applies only to the original owner of the product and is not transferable. Warranty coverage terminates two years after the owner receives the product.

While a product is under warranty the product will be repaired or replaced free of charge. The owner of the product will be responsible for both shipping to and from.

Warranty coverage will be automatically cancelled should the product be tampered with, modified, abused, damaged through misuse, repaired by an unauthorized third party

or damaged through failure to follow the operating instructions. Use of an improper power supply will void warranty.
